Technical Information



Framing



All products carried by Windows West comply with the relevant Australian Standards pertaining to wind loading and human impact. Under the (BCA) Building Code of Australia, window manufacturers are required to produce windows and doors that meet mandatory minimum specifications to satisfy Australian Standard (AS) 2047 including AS1288. Our products can be assembled to suit conditions up to and including cyclonic regions thus satisfying AS 1170.2:-2011.


Glazing



All glazing installed by Windows West is designed to meet the requirements of the Australian Standards AS 1288-2006. While in some cases non-safety glass panels are accepted under the Standards, as a rule we will only use Grade A safety glass in all our installations for that extra piece of mind.

Compliance



To ensure compliance with all relevant Codes/Standards, please ensure that necessary details are supplied to our estimation team.
Generally a basic starting point would be your site plans and a window/door schedule, along with:
  • Orientation including terrain categories & windage.
  • Any pool regulation requirements
